Date Night

Feeling the love? Add these ideas into your date idea portfolio and you’ll be earning those Brownie points quicker than you can say Art Deco.

Bubbles is always the answer

Relax with a glass of bubbles at The Emporium inside the famous Masonic Hotel. Originally built in 1861 it has been through multiple iterations before becoming the beautiful and much awarded hotel that it is today. See their website for more information

Romantic stroll

Take an evening walk along the beach, take five at the Tom Parker Fountain lit in all its synchronised and multi-coloured glory before settling in at Monica Loves in Tennyson Street for a nightcap.

Farmer’s Market

Make grocery shopping romantic by meeting up at the Napier Farmer’s Market in Clive Square on a Saturday morning. After a leisurely breakfast and coffee at the market, stock up on supplies from our artisan producers.

Soak it up

Watch the sun set while you soak in a hot spa on Napier’s waterfront. Ocean Spa on Marine Parade is open every day until 10pm, and has two leisure pools plus indoor and outdoor spas.

A show or a film Take in a show or a film at either Napier’s iconic Municipal Theatre in Tennyson Street or the Century Theatre at the MTG.

If you’re game

If playing sport with your significant other isn’t off limits, the two courses at the 12 Par 2 Mini Golf on Marine Parade is a great date idea.

On a bicycle built for two

Hire a tandem from one of Napier City Bike Hire and cycle together along Marine Parade’s pathways. If you’re feeling fit, there’s a 24km coastal ride that starts at the Napier i-Site and heads south towards Cape Kidnappers, or a 10km cycle trail from Napier Port to Awatoto.
